Art The Great Eclipse Water Color Painting on Silk with Asian Embroidery By Geraldine Mailender
Painting on silk, original 19” X 19” ready to hang, Asian embroidery embellishment.
On August the 21st, 2017, Americans prepared for a stellar eclipse that would begin over the state of Washington and proceed across the country quietly blacking out the sun for some minutes. Although curved its ending journey through the Carolina’s, I had participated in a group mediation that morning and watched with my “eye protection gear’ as every cable channel followed this phenomenon. I saw it best over Kansas. It was exactly these colors, bronze made of watercolor and Sedona red rock dirt, with “embroidered Chinese Red tails sweeping the sky. Yes, the Phoenix rises through darkness to emerge through a ring of 18 pearls, meaning Health, Wealth, Peace and Love.
Watercolor on silk is my favorite fine art media: alive, colorful, and abstract. Each unique silk artwork comes spontaneously from my heart; then embellished with my own hand done embroidery. This three dimensional, multi-media piece is professionally framed and ready to adorn your special wall space. For your home, office, gift list, select the silk that catches your eye, uplifts your spirit, and speaks something meaningful to you.
